1. Open the PrinterSwitch dialog (choose Print… from any application). Look at each printer setting and note which printer settings use the old printer driver.
2. Install the new printer driver software from the original manufacturer's diskettes.
3. Launch the Chooser and completely set up the new printer driver (choose your printer, PPD file, etc.)
4. Open the PrinterSwitch Printers folder (inside your Preferences folder) and remove the files corresponding to the old printer driver software (you noted these setting files in step #1)
5. Open the PrinterSwitch dialog and have it "re-learn" the settings for your new printer driver.
When upgrading your MacOS software:
1. Registered users: Open the PrinterSwitch dialog and note your registration code.
2. Upgrade your MacOS.
3. Locate and install upgrades for your non-Apple printer drivers, if necessary.
4. If you did a "clean install," simply reinstall the PrinterSwitch control panel, re-register, and "re-learn" your printer settings. You are now done.
5. If you did an "upgrade," open your Preferences folder and remove the PrinterSwitch Printers folder.
6. "Re-learn" all your PrinterSwitch printer settings.
